Making friends in Pine Creek, Zion. Rapped down into a pothole full of water and this guy came to greet me. I thought he might like a spot of sun, so I stuck him there. He seemed pretty content. #zionnationalpark#snakes#makingfriends
World wonders... today was pretty magical. From the wild and loud Las Vegas to the natural greatness of Zion National Park in Utah. No photo can show how huge this Canyon actually is- my camera couldn't even get the whole thing in the frame. Just look at the things on top, those are trees! And those colors were amazing, so deep and bright. What. A. Country.
First light over Zion after arguably the worst sleep of my life. Hammock camping in fierce desert wind isn't for the faint of heart and after hours being buffeted and thrown around, daylight was our saviour
Not the best video of a section of our hike up to angels landing. But, I was pretty tired and we still had quite a ways to go. So happy we were able to do this. Zion has been an amazing part of our trip this year. #liveyouradventure#utah#zionnationalpark
Impressively incredible winding, narrow roads weaved us past checkered mesas, rocky gorges, and jagged mountaintops ( we even sighted a very friendly squirrel and several Desert Bighorn sheep up close & personal). The bright orange rock formations look as if they’re made from flowing lava that suddenly stopped running and solidified instantly capturing a moment in time rather than showing millions of years of slow geologic activity... truly #breathtaking#bucketlist ✔️#hiking#ZionNationalPark#littlefieldsummeradventure2017
Zion Canyon from the Observation Point. It's a strenuous four mile hike with a 2150 ft elevation gain to reach the top. To save our strength for the 2 day Narrows hike, we instead made an almost flat 3 mile descent to this point from the East Mesa Trailhead #weweresneaky
After the Sierra Nevadas I passed through Death Valley and pressed through to #ZionNationalPark . With some advice from @freethedust, I set forth on a few days #trekking through the park trying my best to avoid the crowds. Luckily I secured one of the few #wilderness permits the park releases per day and got to backcountry through #theNarrows . After so much time in the mountains it was #refreshing#hiking through the #slotcanyon , especially getting to enjoy the solitude which is not a luxury in the bottom half of the trail one experiences. I shamelessly asked the first person I saw on that second day to snap a picture of me. They indulged me and then handed me back my phone. I was about to put my phone away when his partner asked me to see if the photos were to my liking when I then dropped my phone into the water and spent almost 10 seconds feeling around for it in the current. Sadly, I took no more pictures that day. #prextrex *
