Me, in the shape of a partial eclipse in honor of today's cosmic phenomenon 🌘🌞 What an amazing experience it was to watch the solar eclipse! It really put things into perspective. I'm no political person and I don't want to go into detail about how heartbreaking it's been to watch the news in the last weeks, but I found myself feeling overwhelmingly down and out following the horrific events of Charlottesville & the documentaries and interviews that followed.. But I felt an undeniable shift of energy while watching the moon pass the sun. I saw it as a new beginning, a chance to set new intentions to connect with my self and others, close the door on the past, and march forward. We need to get it together as a people, people! I know a lot of you have little kiddos that are going to school this week and well maybe you start next week. Here is a quick recipe that is not to bad in the way of time and health benefits.
Lunch Box Ramen ★★★★★
5 Ingredients,220 Calories,20 Minutes
3 1/2 cups water
4 ounces ramen noodles (packages organic, any flavor) Or you can use rice noodles or whole wheat pasta
1/2 cups edamame (frozen shelled uncooked)
1/2 cups tofu (cubed baked or smoked, or cooked chicken, beef or pork)
2 cups baby spinach .
Pour the water into a medium pot and bring to a boil. Add the seasoning packet from the ramen and stir. Break up the ramen noodles into the pot of boiling broth. Add the edamame, tofu, and spinach.
Stir and transfer immediately to thermoses. The noodles will cook as they sit in the thermos.

Anybody else got a major #eclipse hangover? We braved the roads and headed home this afternoon and it only took us forever to get home.
Owen was begging for a donut, I was begging for some quiet- the longest 4 hours in forever😂
Luckily we survived the road trip and we are now huddled up in our comfiest clothes in bed reading books.
And because #balance , we put in our miles today 🏃🏻♀️, ate veggies straight from grandma's garden, and will now finish off the day by splitting this donut 🙌🏽

I have been dealing with migraines / headaches since my senior year in highschool.
I missed a lot of school in my grade 12 year due to these episodes. I would lay in my dark room for hours with water on my bedside table , Tylenol, and some wet cloths to put behind my neck and on my forehead.
If you know me , you know I dislike taking pills because they don't make my body feel good and I personally don't agree with them – unless of course it's life threatening and you need them to survive. I went to the doctors offices and a few rounds to the hospitals because they got so bad. The sensations and overall feeling they gave me were so painful I was in tears daily. I had no idea what to do and I felt lost & alone because they couldn't find anything wrong—Which is great , but also discouraging when you are experiencing such high intensities of pain—you are bound to feel as though people may not believe you. Fast forward a few years and to now..I still experience the odd headache or migraine and they're usually somewhat tolerable.
I know this may seem off- putting coming from someone so heavily involved in the yoga and fitness community , but marijuana saved me. It allowed me to enjoy the simple things in life , like watching tv, going for walks and runs , and enjoying sitting in a room full of LIGHT with my friends and family. I went to many doctors and they kept prescribing me heavy medications , until I found one who told me to stop taking tylenols even and to use marijuana if it helped. It did. Moderation is key of course, but for someone who has been and still deals with the migraine episodes , I wanted to share my story with you in the hopes for more people to come and let there's be heard. There's no right way to do things. It's scary. Scary to feel as though you'll be judged for doing something that is so frowned upon in the fitness community. I know the stigma around it is horrible , but the effects are mind blowing. It works.
