Michelangelo's Prophet Isaiah
<==swipe twice to see additional observations.
Michelangelo (1475-1564) was an Italian Renaissance artist. Known for his sculpture of David and the painting of the Sistine Chapel. Within the massive painting of the chapel ceiling is this portrait of the Prophet Isaiah.
Giorgio Vasari, another renaissance artist said of the Isaiah painting,"Anyone who studied this figure...will find a beautifully composed work..."
My drawing is on the first page, on the second page I've indicated with red lines and arrows the flow of the painting. It was interesting to me that by the use of cleverly formed shapes he directs your attention to the face of Isaiah. If you didn't get that Isaiah's finger redirects your attention back to his face.
In the third sheet, I noted that Michelangelo balanced his painting, shape "A" is the counter balance of shape "B".
I'm sure if I studied longer I could have found more but this is just a simple sketch to help me in my pursuit of becoming more proficient#100drawingsin100days#wacomtablet#pencilsketch#pencildrawing#arthistory#connecticutartist#whydoipractice#keeplearning#keepdrawing#thanksforlike
Ini namanya kak @yosephinasinaga. Chief mentor (CM) aku yg cute banget, yg bimbing aku hingga jadi seorang mentor yg "ready to serve". Amin
