"Could you just sit here and 'be' before you bloody well dash off and 'do?'" This sentence rang as clear as a bell in my head upon waking this morning.
I always know my ever-patient higher self is becoming somewhat peeved with me when it starts using "bloody." Today, I sulkily retaliated with, "But, I want to 'be' in nature. Duh." It was an important exchange, albeit impatient and short, with myself.
And, after pouting for a minute and then closing my eyes, I remembered my inner landscape, beyond the blah blah friggin blah of my brain and petulance of my story, is as calm and calming a place as I'll ever encounter.
I determined to visit it more often.
Had a major breakthrough last night so I'm issuing a PSA:
You will NEVER get anything from a grapefruit, but grapefruit juice.
Now that can make you a great salad.
Or a yummy cocktail.
But a grapefruit will never be able to take on the flavor profile of something it fundamentally is not.
Like an orange.
We gotta stop squeezing these grapefruits & getting mad that we don't end up with orange juice, my friends.
That ain't gonna happen, EVER.
We CAN, however, learn to love the grapefruit for what it is & all of its delicious uniqueness. But pouring grapefruit juice into a recipe that SPECIFICALLY calls for orange juice, then getting mad that the cake doesn't taste like it's supposed to is straight up INSANITY.
Grapefruits are fun! Let's use them for grapefruit things!! Oranges are fun! Let's use them for orange things!
But let us never, NEVER mistake one for the other. 🍊🍋#GrapefruitsOnlyMakeGrapefruitJuice#SoDayka
Your love came to me as a sprinkling summer rainfall
Light and playful on my skin
Magical fairy dust of excitement
The feeling of your wet skin on mine
It is still my favorite
And those glorious droplets
Collected in my heart
The way they did in the glass jar
Left out on the porch
Filling to overflow
With warm comfort
Of love dew
The rain that is you

I Will Not Dye My Hair Blonde
I knew a guy once that asked me to dye my hair because he thought it would "look better." I love blond hair and I wasn't opposed to the idea. But telling me I'd look better without my NATURAL hair color? It broke my heart and made me self-conscious.
Black hair, brown hair, red hair, blond hair, etc. they're all perfect. ❤️
Please don't feel like you have to change yourself to be loved. People are attracted to different things but that doesn't mean your natural characteristics aren't beautiful. THEY ARE! So beautiful!! ✨✨ Don't let anybody tamper with your sweetness.
A day when all hate disappears from my country ...that will be a freedom to my motherland.. When all hearts are vocal about wishing our most deserved inpendence ,why cant we love a brother/sister from a different religion or other country.
My country has chosen a day to celebrate the freedom it receievd.
Holiday is observed with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events. We distribute sweets, but no official work is done. And yet it is on the same day ,a class VIII student gets raped on the way to school for celebration..So is this our Independence? Even Gandhi would have shot himself again seeing this day.And Im sure Netaji would have put the entire nation on fire.
My heart pains for this country.Im sure my motherland cries too.
I wish this anguish ends someday and I will again be proud of my Independence...
~My paradise is burning..Go get some love~
it's just now. it's just here. tomorrow is just a dream. freedom requires vigilance in modern times but freedom is not perceived in the space between worlds. we are living on such a small planet. it is strong but we are fragile and we are controlled by what we have been told is real. when i transcend the time consciously, i am rewarded with a feeling of spaciousness. a gap. that gap is where eternity lives. where the universe was born. that gap is the very moment before our first breath as a civilization. there are millions of worlds out there. in the land of Instagram and donald trump and trends, it is easy to become so tied down. to forget the magic. to forget the otherness. we are otherness. it transcends the skin. the mind. in the core. don't get so caught up with the noise. it is simply that. don't let the cerebral nature of your own self stop you from crossing the threshold from time to time. when you need to remember what it is like to forget about yourself. not in fear. to remember the vastness that you were created from. people think that the use of drugs or alcohol is the only way to reach it. that is simply untrue. people use drugs and alcohol because it is much harder to find that space naturally. but it's there. it's that dimension. but it is not a place you visit. it is already inside of you. and it isn't easy to find it. to get back to it. but it is possible. it is always possible.
When Things Fall Apart, Pema Chödrön, 1997
"This is the training of the bodhisattva, the training of the servants of peace. The world needs people who are trained like this -- bodhisattva politicians, bodhisattva police, bodhisattva parents, bodhisattva bus drivers, bodhisattvas at the bank and the grocery store. In all levels of society we are needed. We are needed to transform our minds and actions for the sake of other people and for the future of the world."
