In Jaipur, we woke up early in order to beat the crowds to the top of the Monkey Temple. Though we didn't see any monkeys at the temple itself, the entire walk was full of monkeys jumping around, some even trying to get food from us (even though we didn't have any)! The views were quite incredible once we reached the top, and no one else was around. 🐒
City Palace 🏯
City Palace, Udaipur, is a palace complex situated in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was built over a period of nearly 400 years, with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Construction began in 1553, started by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Rajput family as he shifted his capital from the erstwhile Chittor to the new found city of Udaipur. The palace is located on the east bank of Lake Pichola and has several palaces built within its complex.
So, excited to be teaching alongside such a crazy line up of artists here at @camprj14. And don't think of its a dance workshop, it's a holiday for dancers.
Where your stay is free, your meals are free and you get to party with a lot of other things. (Don't miss out)
From Origami to Pottery, from Paintings to Theatres, we have seen it all here but the city got an opportunity to be a part of this unique competition: Umbrella Art, which was organised by Kalp Chitrakala Parishad. Sharing a common asset here in the name i.e. 'Umbrella', is purely a coincidence but the aim to curate the best was indeed intentional. The event took place on 20th Aug,17 at Masooriya, Jodhpur.
The same was sponsored by @pearlacademy and @thefiloscafe_jodhpur
Students/Artists from all over the city had actively participated and exhibited some of their best artworks on an Umbrella. How creative is that!
A kalbeliya-sapera dancer ( Anita Sapera) she is about to perform a show at her village few kilometres outside Pushkar for some tourists. This cast of gypsies is spread all over Europe and they have straight connections with south Spain and specifically with Granada. They speak the same language and they have common traditions. Most of them live in Albaicin area where flamenco heart beats. Actually you are looking the roots of it!!
