Lessons from mountain climbing
I'm trying to get friendly with discomfort. Trying to recognize when pain visits me and then take the chance to embrace it like a dear friend. Savouring the soreness instead of shutting down and seeking an escape asap. Because muscles grow most when pushed past their limits. Perseverance pays off.
A reminder for whatever difficulties you face in the upcoming weeks: Don't mistake adversity for the enemy, or judge yourself weak for wanting to concede defeat. Even the biggest trees shake in the breeze.
Just keep going
The last two and half weeks have been like something out of a dirtbag diaries podcast. We have had our fair share of challenges and a hand full of accomplishments. Sally the Van got us from A to B, chugging along at her own pace totaling just over 3000 miles of driving. We saw tall peaks, giant trees, sublime beaches, and sweltering deserts, but the most important thing I observed this whole trip was that I was lucky enough to share it all with one amazing girl that I hope to travel with again very soon. An adventure is only as good as the people you share it with, and this one is going down as one of the greatest to date. @wander_naut #dirtbagdiaries#wildernessculture#theoutbound
