470 x 1 today on my top set of squats today. I really wasn't planning on going heavy today but I wanted to fully support my pal @naturalguy1 for his last squat session before his big meet next week at BOB IV @bossbarbellclub and did the same weights. I had the honor of setting up his entire PL prep plan and he followed it to the letter. He's primed for some big numbers after his week of de-loading and recovery. I'm excited to see what he will do at the meet. Here's to some big numbers pal. And it was so awesome training at Skiba's Gym @skibasgym. Transformations aren't always entirely physical. I noticed some of the biggest and most rewarding changes during that four-year period were often times the mental changes. I learned to just enjoy the process and look forward to continually working towards my goals. I'm by no means the fittest or strongest person, but after I started lifting I became stronger and more confident in myself and no longer scrolled through Instagram wishing I had this fitness model's glutes or that fitness model's abs. Always be proud of the progress that you have made, but never stop working to better yourself!

Well don't tell anyone but I didn't workout today...🙈 After a tiny rash on my abdomen appeared I went to have it checked...you know just to make sure everything is on the up and up. Other than just being an annoyance and being super tired the last few days I just wanted to see what was going on especially with the weekend coming.
It's shingles. And at first I was like...."ummm that's kinda embarrassing" then I realized...why?
I mean my weight is healthy. My heart rate was 52bpm, my blood pressure was 102/70 I believe...they seriously always ask if I am comatose.
I exercise 98% of the time and eat healthy 85% of the time. I mean I show my body some serious love.
The doctor said it was the mildest case of shingles he has ever seen and he was really shocked that I was having no pain because apparently shingles is very, very painful. It's common in people 50 or older and it can be triggered by trauma to the body, surgery or medical procedures or stress... Well I am gonna chalk it up to stress because while everything in the world of social media looks blissful and full of Unicorns and Rainbows the amount of stress I have personally endured this year has been quite drastic and I guess my body was sending me a big fat red flag to slow down, relax and listen.
My body just needs to slow down a bit.
So reluctantly I listened today... I do believe that due to me taking care of my mind and body on the regular is why this case of shingles is mild and painless...this bout of shingles could have been a whole lot worse. I have heard horror stories.
It pays to love yourself everyday.
Our bodies are amazing machines and our minds are brilliant...sometimes we just need to listen to it.

This was 7 years ago. Its amazing what changing your lifestyle and what being consistent will do for you. Also adding hair and tattoos will do that as well 😂😂😂. I'm looking forward to my future changes and results. Have a great night and stay encouraged.

I spent so much time working out because I hated my body. Now I work out because love it. My mind may still play tricks on me sometimes, but at least I finally see fitness in a different light. I see it as a celebration of what my body can DO-- NOT punishment for what I ate or what I'm not. I used to be that girl spending 2+ hours on the elliptical, I used to be that girl hardly eating and pretending she just "wasn't hungry" when people asked, I used to be the girl who would restrict all day then eat an entire pizza + pint of ice cream + 1/2 jar of PB in one sitting in her room so no one would know. So if that's you right now...I GET IT. And it breaks my heart that you're still struggling. But life doesn't have to be like that forever. There's a different answer, an EASIER one-- for your mind, body, AND soul. Strength is powerful. I have seen and felt it firsthand. You trust me? Always here. 👭💜💌
