For my bros 👌🏻 How to argue the bicep curl is functional 💪🏽 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
1. Biceps pick up chicks
2. Fill in the gap
3. Chicks produce babies
4. We need babies to continue the human existence
But...if that doesn't work
Try this explanation... The bicep curl is seen by many as the furthest from Functional as could be.
Many will disagree with what I am going to say, but I would say it is highly functional or at least very beneficial for many people when done WELL.
Let me explain why "The bicep curl stresses the shoulder and torso position"
I am going to refer to functional as beneficial and to tasks one would do repetitively on a daily basis.
Firstly ask yourself do you pick things up on a daily basis? The bicep curl resembles that. But Let's take a waitress or waiter.
They have to carry plates on their hand.
This loads the arm very similar to a dumbbell would. If they have difficulty holding a stable shoulder this has potential to lead to overload or many structures.
Now look at a standing dumbbell curl done well. We must hold a stable Base in our "core" and our shoulder. These also work together in aiding force/stress reduction as being stable in one area of the body means another area won't have increased stress placed on it as a result.
The bicep curl movement can be used as a stressor of these important areas of the body
For stressing and learning the correct shoulder position shoulder under load I really feel tricep push downs and bicep curls for example have their place.
In summary the bicep curl if done well and depending on the injury can actually be considered as an exercise in shoulder "rehab". I would see it being most beneficial when one is trying to learn where the best position is for their shoulder to be under load. 💪🏽 So the bicep curl is a Double whammy... Big biceps and a strong stable shoulder and torso 💪🏽
||PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT|| My feedback from my last comp was my posing was flawless. I literally practiced every single day! So it felt good to know it had payed off. Its All well and good to train hard and look the part but if you don't nail your posing on the day all that hard work will be a waste. Nothing will change this time round I will be practicing my poses in the mirror everyday. As stupid as it feels the more you do it the more it will feel natural on stage. #posing#competitionprep#frontpose
