1985 this amazing movie came out! #returnofthelivingdead#horror#scary#zombies side note- from wiki- The film has its roots in a novel by John Russo also called Return of the Living Dead. When Russo and George A. Romero parted ways after their 1968 film Night of the Living Dead, Russo retained the rights to any titles featuring Living Dead while Romero was free to create his own series of sequels, beginning with Dawn of the Dead. #interestingfacts#ripgeorgearomero
'Annabelle: Creation' The prequel to 2014's Conjuring spinoff 'Annabelle' presents us with the origin story of the haunted doll that has terrified many. The Conjuring universe has presented some of the best horror of recent years and this one was no different. Its a good addition to the growing franchise due to the horror elements it presents. At times the scares are very predictable and you see them coming but they work for the most part, especially when it deals with eerie visuals. The movie does however feel like a B movie at the beginning but it definitely improves from the original Annabelle in that the story feels much more developed and open. I did however find the first one creepier in some ways but this one does a great job with the characters, especially the two main young actresses. Their relationship and motives felt real and made you care for them, especially 'Janice'. The atmosphere is executed extremely well. Its what true horror is supposed to be so it achieves that. It lets you know that something is lurking in the shadows and eventhough you cant see it yet, you know its coming. There is also a small easter egg for The Nun which was a good touch to get you excited for it.
The strongest aspect of the movie is the way it ties it to the original. It does it in a very cool and highly smart way.
Overall, the movie has good scares. Predictable at times but still delivers horror in atmospheric ways. GRADE: C+ #AnnabelleCreation#itsallatm#moviereview#filmreview#movie#film#horror#theconjuring#theconjuringuniverse#review#2017#annabelle
