🏋️Best Pre-workout Habits To Get The Most Out Of Your Workouts 🏋️
To get the most out of your workouts you must do your best to prepare your body properly to ensure you can give your all and prevent Injury.
🌊 First make sure you're properly hydrated! Hydration is essential for nearly every system of the human body. Dehydration can cause a myriad of negative effects on the body including increase risk of Injury. Better yet..may not get a pump from those high volume workouts! Aim for eight 8 oz glasses of water per day, and at least 12-20 oz. An hour preworkout
🍛Make sure you've had adequate nutrition throughout the day and a good preworkout meal at least 1 hour before your workout to provide adequate fuel for your tough workouts! You can get away with a decent sized meal consisting of complex carbs and light protein 1 hour before hand. If you're pressed for time, grab a piece of fruit 30 minutes preworkout. My go to is oatmeal/protein shake an hour before or an apple 30 minutes before! Experiment to see what works best for you!
🏃WARM UP!!! Too often do I find that this is the most commonly neglected step. Warming up raises body temperature and helps encourage blood flow to working muscles to prepare for the workout. Choose your favorite piece of cardio for 5-10 minutes before dynamic stretching!
🤸Perform short dynamic stretches which is better done preworkout than long static stretching! Dynamic gets the body ready for the movements about to be performed during your workout. Perform 5-10 reps of a particular dynamic stretch of 3 second holds. Examples including lunge stretches, side lunges, walking quad stretches, etc.
📱LASTLY. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE. Get your iPod tunes on and FOCUS ON YOUR WORKOUT. I see too many people locked on their phones being distracted rather than focusing on the workouts. If you have to take a selfie..save it for later. Do the work.
