Walked myself through the farmers market this morning and found the most beautiful, fresh challah bread (bonus: she had a dairy free version)! Also picked up some huuuuge carrots and fresh dill. I chopped the dill and mixed it in with vegan mayo and squeezed juice from a lemon to pull up some citrus flavor with the dill. Yum. Yum. Yum.💕
Shop & support local! These people work their bums off and I'm so thankful to have such fresh, pure produce at my fingertips.🌿🙌🏽
SO LOCAL 👌 Bright green broccoli, purple cauli, red potatoes & roasted garlic + oregano, thyme & sea salt galore.
Lately I've been prioritizing going local with my food, & it brings a whole new level of nourishment & fulfillment to my table & to my compromised little gut. Being in the #pnw means you are a lucky, local-centric food son of a! There are so many seasonal options with bustling markets in every neighborhood.
Buying local means supporting your community, locking in serious freshness & with the sans crazy shipping it means extra special sustainable food. You're also directly investing in farmland & your food has a fighting chance at packing more nutrients.
This is not to say that anyone should avoid non-seasonal - there are incredibly healing fruits & veggies that come to us from afar, it would be silly to cut them out. But a good balance between both sounds, tastes & feels like a total win. #lowhistamine#histamineintolerance#guthealth#golocal#buylocal#localfood#portland#farmersmarket#snack
Okay, pretend it was drizzled with honey and bee pollen.... I took a the pick midway as I was plating and forgot to go back and take the final shot. 6 dishes for 8 in less than 1 hour., no problem 😝., Goat cheese roasted beets baby cucumber and edible flowers (pollen & honey not shown) from @unsqgreenmarket.
💥🌱❤🍋💙 This morning we were slinging up some delicious Latin inspired vegan dishes, desserts and cold pressed juice with our good friends at our first ever Sunday (of hopefully many more) at the Green Market in Palm Beach Gardens!🍛🥗🍉🍰 We immediately felt a very warm welcome from the vendors around us and couldn't be happier to be a part of this community! If you live in the area, please join us every Sunday morning from 9 to 1pm at 11010 N. Military Trail! Even though we won't be able to make it to the market this upcoming Sunday (because of my show 🙈), delicious food and juice will still be available 🙌👏 and I'm the meantime you can check out our IG and website @latinoveganflavor
Thank you so much for snapping this pic and your support @pie_cups 🤓✌(👈check them out! Their blueberry matcha cups are my favorite 😋)
Happy Sunday friends. I'm sticking close to home this visit because it's just my Mom and me, which explains all the food in the kitchen pics. There is a lovely farmers market on Sundays in the neighborhood now. I took a walk this morning to get some things for dinner. On the way I scored at the latest neighborhood bakery, Arsicault. You guys, this was named the best bakery in the country last year by Bon Apetit! 😄 In the past year the first two times I went by they were sold out of croissants. The next two times they had closed early. This morning- only two people in line and I nabbed two plain, one almond, and one ham and cheese. A fitting birthday brunch treat for my Mom's 91st birthday. 😊🎂 And yes. Best croissants I've had.
🍅🍅🍅Tomatoes are good for helping reduce sun ☀️ damage because they’re high in the antioxidant lycopene, which helps fight free radicals. The antioxidant is most easily absorbed when the tomatoes have been cooked, which releases it from the plant cells. It’s also easier for your body to absorb it if you eat the tomatoes along with some healthy fats, like avocado or olive oil. The amount of lycopene varies depending on the type of tomato and its ripeness. In general, the redder the tomato, the more lycopene it has. #healthyfood#eatingwell#tomatoes#skincare#sundamage#farmersmarket#livewell#eatingsmart
Isn't it just crazy that July is almost over? With that said, here in Minnesota we have so few weekends left to enjoy the amazing weather and BBQ outside! We grilled out and made turkey burgers with fresh tomatoes 🍅 from @blm.mn.market, lettuce 🌿 from my garden, and I made a delish potato salad with potatoes 🥔 from the #pahlsmarket CSA! See recipe below so you can make, too!😊
•boil 6 potatoes (I leave the skins)
•chop potatoes once drained
•chop a cup of fresh parsley
•sauté one whole, chopped, red onion
•add salt, pepper and garlic to taste
•mix it all up and you've got a salad!
