Lemmings don't really blindly follow one another off of cliffs toward their inevitable deaths. Disney kinda created this misconception with their 1958 pseudo-documentary White Wilderness. The producers somehow thought this to be natural behaviour for lemmings, this mass suicide (it isn't). They wanted to shoot this act, but couldn't find any natural occurrences (for obvious reasons). So they imported a buncha lemmings to rocky Alberta, flung those little bastards off a cliff, and filmed it. True story.
Anyhow, first time I went camping I was with my buddy Tom, a few of his close friends and few of their friends from Poland. The girls among those Polish friends were REAALLY cute; and although their english wasn't exactly on point, you could tell they liked to drink (the universal language). One night Tom, Maho, Miguel and I were talking to a few of these girls and floating around the idea of going skinny dipping. Back then, the four of us were fairly timid. Sure it was brought up, and we all laughed nervously about it, but we knew it wasn't actually gonna happen (they might see our peepees!). That was until, one of the girls (the loud, brash one) abruptly stripped down to nothing, turned around and jumped off the rocky overhang into the cool lake. Lemme tell you, the rest of us (girls too!) couldn't get naked fast enough. Everyone just threw off all their clothes and followed her in, no thinkin no nothing, exasperated and free, one by one..............like lemmings off a cliff. True story.

Can't thank #penfolds enough for the wine tasting at Magill Estate!! Highlights were the Bin15A Chardonnay, Bin128 Shiraz Cab Sav and the Grandfather Tawny 👌 steer clear of Koonunga Hill but the rest of the range was impeccable!
Crafted by The Lost Abbey, Devotion is a dry-hopped Blonde Ale.
The aroma of Belgian yeast is smelled as you drink. Pine and lemon waft to you nose as you continue to down the beer. The malts taste like bread and the grain of wheat. With an alcohol content of 6.3%, the flavor of the alcohol is light in the finish.
The main feature is the dryness and is sensed from start to finish. The hops bear a slight strength. The dry and hops creates the dry hop description for the beer. The body of the beer has a predominant yeast taste and comes across as dry and a bit spicy.
The flavor of lemon is experienced, especially in the finish. Pine is felt in the dry finish as well. A citrus bite of orange is tasted on the onset of the drink. Coriander is faint, but is discovered along with the orange.
A herbal quality is noticed upon the body of the beer. Thyme provides a very pleasing, tea-like complexion to the dry hopped composition. The yeast is still present and has an earthy feel to it. Pepper is experienced along with the yeast.
The Lost Abbey has outdone themselves with this Golden Ale. The final product of Devotion tastes as if this was an import. Belgian is my favorite style of beer and I would think this is an import in a blind test because this is a stand alone drink. I'm used to drinking dank Belgian imports, and the imports remind us every time why the Belgian style has such a standard. The Lost Abbey carries on this tradition on the west coast of America. A one of a kind drink and a dry drinkability, Devotion shouldn't left on the shelf and in your possession instead.
Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer.
