Keeping a hall closet tidy doesn't have to be a challenge. Once you declutter and clear all of the unused and "what if" items you can examine your habits. I have a bag packed and ready for swimming with my kids which helps me stay organized and is easy to grab and add too. I also stack this bag inside another larger empty bag for family outings. Blanks for picnics and yoga are stored on the shelf and reusable grocery bags are folded and hung on a hanger for easy grab and go. No fancy equipment just simple minimal and clean! .
A little impromptu makeup cleanup! As you can see, I didn't have a lot of cosmetics to start with. I've pared down quite a bit over the past couple years. But today, I decided to take another step towards my goal of minimizing my possessions and it felt great! 😊 I love that #maccosmetics has a recycling program that offers a free lipstick for every 6 full sized empty MAC containers you return. So many of these empties will not go in the trash. Win/win! The environment is better off and you get to enjoy a fabulous new lipstick! 💄 Today, I gave my empties away to a well deserving friend who has helped me a lot over the past couple years. She was happy and I was too! 🌸 Who knows, maybe I will whittle my collection down further! I feel even 1-2 lipsticks is all I really need. Have a great day! ☀️ #minimalist#minimalism#declutter#decluttering#clean#sparkjoy#mariekondo
The after of an office drawer that was filled to the brim. ⏭ Swipe to see the before. Office drawers are some of the hardest to keep in order! Keep the wires together, make sections for supplies that can get messy!!
These are my childhood roller skates circa '93. My mum sent me this pic as she was mid clear out asking if she should keep them for my little girls...erm, no thanks 🤦🏼♀️ Conveniently I'd been prepping a blog all about decluttering and the impact having too much 'stuff' has had on me. Link in bio 😊#WingingIt#DeClutter#TooMuchStuff#ClearOut#ClearMind#Parenting
One simple act of declutter can generate so much room to think and it feels so positive!
What can you declutter? Your wardrobe? Bathroom cupboard? Garage? Your head?
This recent change in our family life has created a desire to sort! The knowing and want has been there for a while but the motivation very much lacking!
I waited, resisting, procrastinating... but now we have started! They say playing with lego gives you key insights on how you approach life, planning and obstacles.
I know that this lego sorting exercise very quickly became a key focus! 7 years of lego sorted in a couple of days ... simple, effective, visual, satisfying, team work and created so much awareness for the boys.
While sitting there picking out tiny red lights I was taken back to the beginning of the year and thinking about the simple goals I set. I know I'm on track as they are really easy to monitor but what strikes me is how many have been added as a direct result of simply starting with a tiny bit of focus.
What is occurring in my life right now was completely unknown in January, yet with a flexible approach, self awareness and connecting key aims together I can make them work harder and look to achieve more!
That old fashion saying promise less and deliver more! Makes sense to me to apply it to ourselves!
September is approaching and with it the last quarter of the year! Feels like the perfect time to check in with yourself. What's on your radar for achieving this year and what do you need to begin to make it happen?
If you would like a walk and talk to think about this some more then get in touch!
Right now we look forward to Lego Land Denmark and I am avoiding my accountant who would love to see the same passion applied to my tax return!! #declutter#legosorted#positivechange#lego#flexiblegoals#thinkingtime#space#positivity#goals#lifecoaching#transition#naturaledgecoachinguk#naturaledgecoaching#focus#juststart#actionsspeaklouderthanwords#doit#getoutofyourway#feelinggood
It'the last full week of summer for us which means I'm on another decluttering kick, especially after reading a blog post about quickly getting rid of 100 things in an hour.
Here is today's decluttering of 100(+) things.
We live on a pretty busy road. I put over 200 children's books of all levels out for the taking.
We have read them all, and one of my biggest successes of the summer is that we have started going to the library on an almost weekly basis. So we don't need them. They just take up space and get knocked over repeatedly. We still have at least two hundred more books inside. I kept some of the classics and the favorites that the kids will actually read multiple times.
I told my kids they could either pick them up and organize them or we could donate them, and they went with Option B.
So we all agree.
It's time for these books to be enjoyed by some other kids! 😀📖 #declutter#reading#books#lessstuff#minimalism#lessismore#readingisfundamental

What's better than having a garage? Having a garage you can actually park in! Keeping one of your most expensive possessions on the street so you can store your junk has never made any sense to me.
We spent 3 days organizing 2 garages and a backyard shed. The end result was shelves full of labelled bins and floor space they haven't seen in years.
Thanks for your help on this one @wildroseorganizing
We transformed this cabinet into a breakfast and coffee station ☕️🥞🙌 clear containment is especially important for deep corner cabinets like this one. My favorites are these @oxo pop containers. Happy Monday!
We have a tendency to hold on to things we don't need or even have any attachments to, because we "should"
Be it because something is an antique, or because your great aunt Susan, whom you've never met gave it to you when you lost your first tooth, we hold on to clutter because we're supposed to.
I'm not saying you need to burn your treasured family photo albums because they take up space. If something makes YOU happy, and you genuinely want to keep it, then keep it, and use it if you can! I use my grandmother's silverware every day for this reason. It makes me think of her, and my dad, and it makes me happy to know it's being used.
What I'm saying is, don't hold on to clutter because you "should". If something means a lot to a loved one, give it to them if they want it! But don't hold on to crap to make other people happy.
I was going to hold onto this dye box, because it's older than me, and kinda cool, but it's just taking up space in my kitchen, collecting dust, and it doesn't give me any real joy when I see it.
So now that I've used the dye, and taken a photo of my cool thrift store find, it's served it's purpose, and the box is going to be recycled, to hopefully serve another purpose.
So, I'm back from holiday and ready to get back at it. Today's job is to check under the bed; we all do it,pop it under, out of sight, out of mind but it's also full of dust which destroys what you are trying to hide. So, if you do need to store anything under the bed then pop your belongings into zipped storage bags, keep them safe and dust free, Ikea have some great ones. Let me know what's under your bed and remembering only store what you need. Charity shop, recycle, dump or sell your unwanted goods.
