My friend Dan Pearon, Henderson/Las Vegas artist and musician, died yesterday. Dan has been an amazing friend to me and I am going to miss him terribly. Dan is the only friend that ever actually picked up the phone and called anymore. He would leave cryptic messages when I didn't answer that left me scratching my head and they were never explained. He would text obscure questions. He would mail me unsolicited pieces art.
I was asking myself if todays lunch drawing was appropriate. It is a tribute to Dan and his artistic style. I cried the whole time I drew it. My stupid cartoons are my art and Dan told me to make art, no matter what. It did not matter if it was good or bad, if it was music or painting or printing or dancing, if it was yours and you made it then it was worthwhile and important.
Dan's wisdom and kindness, his caring and insight are examples we could all follow a little better.
@heather56danny We're all here for you. Don't hesitate to ask.
How often do you find a foreign tv series so close to your heart that your heart aches when the characters' do? These two missed each other in the show but found their way together in real life. Yes! How often does gossip like this puts a big smile on your face? ☺️
