I had no idea what to expect from this book when i first started reading it. I figured it's gonna be about the smell of other people's houses (duh!) but i didn't know whether that was literally the plot of the book or what 😂 and i had no idea how the author was gonna incorporate it into the story without it being weird. But guys!!!! You all NEED to read this book! I love it sooo much that it has made it into my list of all-time favorite books!
So, no, this book isn't about sniffing the hell out of other people's houses 😂 the author did manage to incorporate scents and tastes very subtly and naturally into the story, which really set the mood. The absolutely beautiful and lyrical writing made everything better ✨
Set in alaska, the story follows four characters, each battling their own demons. I love how different they are from each other so that they don't sound like the same person. By the end when the four stories interwined, i was filled with so much emotions 😢 it was so bittersweet and i'm a sucker for bittersweet endings 😭 i can see why people wanted the book to be longer and i did too but i like how it ended.
I'm not gonna elaborate on anything because y'all gotta experience it for yourselves. Don't read the reviews on goodreads like i did because it's truly the best to go in blind and i really regret not doing so 😭 y'all know i'm stingy with my 5 stars but this one is definitely 5/5⭐ for me! Now, do yourselves a favor and read this book!
Bookmail! Oh mijn god 🤤)
📚 This is one of my favorite books. Not only because it led me towards broadening my spirituality, but what it symbolizes to me. I bought it when I was 19 (6 years ago) in Milan, Italy. Waiting for the train 🚂 I bought it along with Baudelaire's "Fleurs du Mal", after spending a month in Italy reading every day (Murakami's "Kafka on the Shore" was among my summer reads), and feeling this big craving for reading, expanding my mind, learning new ways to express myself by absorbing different literatures, cultivating and enriching my thoughts 💭 if you haven't read Hesse's Siddhartha, I highly recommend it 📚 🙃
🇬🇧 Has it ever happened to you that you do not know if a book you like or not? Well that bittersweet feeling left me "Holding up the universe" by Jennifer Niven. I read it two or three months ago and I barely remember the story, but the characters. It seemed to me a well documented history with the subject of diseases but at the same time I did not want the protagonists together, since they should first recover psychologically from all their internal conflicts. The theme of "love saves everything", I do not believe it. Although I do not even remember if they end up together or not. I do not know if it is because of my reading slump of any genre that is not fantasy, caused by Sarah J. Maas or because I already surrendered with contemporary youth literature. It's been a while since I've found something romantic that catches my attention ... #literaturajuvenil#bookish#photo#book#bookish#bookporn#holdinguptheuniverse#aquiempiezatodo#bookstagram#bookstagrammer#bookstagramespaña#jenniferniven#libro#booklove#like#feysand

[gone with the wind & my ability to avoid all problems in my life thus far]
So everyone got their alevel results yday and it kickstarted my butt with the reminder that after a false start last year, I am acc going to uni this year
That of course means my Studyblr Tumblr was resurrected from the deep bounds of my phone's memory and I'm back to watching dorm hauls and morning routine YouTube videos in an attempt to organise my life
Just the normal stuff y'know?
It also means I'm trying to reign in my constant need to go out every weekend because I have minus dolla to my name and it's time for me to start being responsible and healthy, right?
Anyways... I just found out that there's a possibility of Gone Girl being on my uni reading list, cool huh? So here's a photo haha
TOTD: is there really a better time in the bookstagram community than rn? Fall is right around the corner guys...

Ahojte 💕 Keby ste mohli byť nadprirodzená bytosť, ktorú by ste si vybrali? 😊 Ja som vždy chcela byt vílou, mat krídla a lietať. A v istom období som bola posadnutá aj upírmi. 😄 Nápis asi nie je moc čítateľný, ale na ponožkách mám "Today I am a mermaid, tomorrow I'll be a unicorn." No nie sú perfektné? 😍
Hi 💕 What kind of supernatural being would you like to be? 😊 I've always wanted to be faeries, have wings and fly around. And in particular time in my life I was obsessed with vampires too. 😄 Oh, and text on my socks is "Today I am a mermaid, tomorrow I'll be a unicorn." Isn't that perfect? 😍
"I was the beginning and he was the end.
And together, we were everything."
Jennifer's writing always leaves me speechless! She always manages to captivate me. Every single time. Her unique writing made me fall in love with her books time after time. This series is so far one of the best series I've read! For starters, this series gets better and better! And did I mention that it's addictive too? 😍🙌🏻
