Spending this morning (or early afternoon, whichever you prefer 😉) enjoying some MUCH NEEDED downtime. Adam is attending a work conference so I'm just chilling in our hotel room catching up on some editing, dreaming, reading blogs, and giving my nails a much needed manicure. 🙌🏼 Life can get so full so easily and it's such a blessing to be able to simply sit back and have a little alone time without feeling like I should be cleaning or doing laundry 🙃 #itsthelittlethings
It's amazing how people are in tune with what you're feeling.
So...I walked away from my work area, and I came back to this!
The thought that someone was thinking of me...put a smile on my face, and it soothed my heart.
P.S. ... you never know how you can brighten someone's day by sending them love in your own personal way. #tolovenaturally
Some pretty dorm commissioned art! You still have time to order before school starts! $8 for a canvas.
On an only slightly related note, I watched a video of Diana, aka Wonderwoman, and Steve Trevor last night with this song playing in the background...I cried.
Lift up that head of yours, babe. Dry those eyes. I know it hurts, but it will get better. Promise.
Bring your hurts to Jesus. He cares for you, deeply. Let His love and healing meet you today. Let Him carry each and every one of those cares that are weighing you down. ❤️ #glamcampforgirls

REUNITED! After a night worrying bunny had gone for good my mum had an epiphany this morning and remembered where they lost bunny! (Something to do with using bunny's ear to wipe Skip dust off of Oliver's face 🙊) so we headed off to M&S and my sister spotted bunny sat on top of a display! Oliver was so pleased to have him back and it's a weight off of my mind too!
Yarn babies 💙 I finally found some local yarn in a tiny shop while visiting a beautiful medieval village up in the mountains. Despite the fact that there are more sheep than people in my region, it took me ages to find yarn made in Abruzzo! I had a nice chat with the owner, who told me she only uses natural dyes and that she once dyed a jumper using Montepulciano wine 😂 Now I only need to find a nice pattern! Any suggestions?
Good morning!!! Well it's official... as of last night I signed up for my next trip to 🇪🇹ETHIOPIA!!!🇪🇹 (Eekkk!!) I seriously am BEYOND excited! My Dad again will be joining me (yay!) and already we are in great anticipation for what's to come. We leave the end of September and it's going to be a jam packed trip! (Still working out the details but I'll report back when I have everything finalized 😉). Meanwhile if you could start praying for this trip with me, that would be AMAZING! I feel the Lord has something epic up His sleeve and I just want to make sure my team and I are covered in prayer. Ready to move mountains and shake the nations with the power of prayer from my precious friends and family!
"You and I
were made for the garden,
you and I
were destined to fall.
You and I
may end where we started,
you and I
were never too small
You and I…
You and I…"
I don't know what Maggie Koerner and her crew truly mean by these lyrics from "Birds," but they've been in my head this month.
This track is on my July playlist that I'll be sharing tomorrow.
I can't help but connect it to C.S. Lewis's, "If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world."
So, #takeheart .

It's always a good day when you get to hang with these guys. @brothersmcclurg @anthonyhoisington @jerlikesguitars @anthonyskinner . Check out @oldbearrecords page to stay updated on these guys and so many other amazing artist!
The days spent together include a lot of noise, mostly laughter, sometimes crying, silly stories, sharing secrets, I love to listen to their conversations, so innocent and usually hilarious... I feel so blessed that my kids get to grow up with the BEST cousins ever!!!!
this past year has truly been such a reward, and also a slow pause into what feels right (as i've been slowly starting to share here.) if we can't allow ourselves the creative space we need, there's not much room, if any for growth or true self awareness. so, lean into what feels right, say yes to what makes you feel whole and inspired. keep learning. make, create, and explore around your experiences, your vulnerabilities and what feels honestly right. i think many of us get caught up in overwhelming our hearts with distractions and others successes. and when we are able to focus on our own path, push through the fear, focus and work on what feels right is when our business and work can be truly sustainable, because it is truly coming from the most genuine place. and that is what people can relate to, in any art form.
(a little note to self) we all need breathing room—in the creative process, in our spaces, in our schedules, in our relationships. I've taken the last couple days off the grid, and I'm slowly learning that that's okay. Life moves fast, and I don't want to miss the moments that matter most. photo by my friend, @gatherinkin⠀
what are your thoughts, do you take Instagram breaks? why / why not?
There’s an amazing thing about the word longsuffering in the New Testament: it is almost always an instruction given in the context of hope.
Romans 8 says, “For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now. . . We ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits—we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies” (vv. 22-23). And in Galatians 6:9, we’re told, “So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” We groan. But we don’t give up. Better still, we do not wait without hope!
We do not wait in vain. We wait for our God—the God who has promised and secured our full redemption through Jesus Christ.
May we do the same for each other in the face of our trials. Let’s practice longsuffering together. Let’s look at our lives with an eye to that glorious day in the future when suffering is but a long, forgotten memory of this earth. #cruciform#jesus#thebookofjames
Was Just reminded of an oldie but goodie the other day. "Bloom where your planted"
It's one of those phrases that doesn't seem to lose relevance...At least in my world.
Having to adjust from the City girl life I knew for 27 years, to live in a landlocked small town-city (50,000) for 7 years and then move to a town of around 1,000... The "bloom where you're planted" got REAL for me.
My journey's desire has always been to find ultimate fulfillment and what I'm learning more than ever is that fulfillment is not about where I am, who I know, what materials I've attained or what my resouces are... But it's internal. It's perspective. It's total abandon to believe that today is more than enough for me, today I HAVE arrived, today I can live out of a heart filled up with gratitude. When I truly believe that, it's weird how the idea's tend to flow, the connections come, the right people show up and the enjoyment of the day accompanies me.
It's taken me years to grasp this and I'm still a work in progress, but when I am truly embracing where I am, with what I have and my posture is gratitude... It feels like Pandora's box of joy and fulfillment is wide open.
What about you? Do you like where you're" planted?" If you could be "planted" anywhere, where would it be?
It was a few weeks into my breakup and I was officially in the bitter-and-mad, but ready to start healing phase. Lord knows when you’re hurting the last thing you really want is to honestly deal with your pain. Things like that are uncomfortable and take time…and I was ready for the heartache to be over already! So naturally I opted to do what would give me immediate results and hopefully prove to be the quickest route back to “normal.”⠀
A dramatic haircut, new wardrobe, refurbished apartment, one night stand, and a few drunken nights of partying later…my heart was still broken and I was minus a lot of the dignity –and money– I started with.⠀
Why do we take such shallow measures to solve our deep-rooted heart problems? Glowing up on your Ex, may seem like the perfect thing to do right now, but can I be honest? No amount of physical makeovers, shiny toys, or rebound lovers will ever satisfy our broken hearts, or remedy the wounds of our romantic pasts. (Don't get me wrong. I loved my new "dew." But...) We need healing that starts from the inside out. That’s why it’s time to quit the quick fixes and take the first steps with Christ down the slow, honest path to healing.⠀
How can we move forward from a place of healing? Visit the blog to find out! 👇⠀
Do you love yourself? Sometimes I do and sometimes I mercilessly pick myself apart. Let's stop doing that and start loving ourselves. It's difficult for people that hate themselves to accept love from others.
Sometimes life get's a little out of control. We get stressed and fall out of alignment with our purpose. It's ok, it's normal. But it doesn't have to be like this forever. ⠀
One of the most powerful things you can do is to let go . . .⠀
+ Let go of your belief that things need to be perfect. ⠀
+ Let go of your belief that you need to be busy every minute.⠀
+ Let go of your belief that your house must be decorated.⠀
+ Let go of your belief that you are lacking because you are in abundance.⠀
+ Let go of the fear associated with not feeling like you're doing enough. ⠀
+ Let go of all the people, thoughts, and things that do not serve you.
While the quality of the friendship is important, the quality of the person is important as well. You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with. ⠀
Take a second to think about the friends (or people in general) that you spend the most time with. Do they lie a lot? Are they lazy and unmotivated? Are they negative? Do they hate everything? Are they unsupportive? Do they believe their experience is for everyone? Do you find yourself apologizing to people about how they act? Do they always want to talk about themselves? Do you know a lot more about their life than they know about yours? These may be some things that you want to avoid in someone you spend time with.⠀
Surround yourself with people that will push you to be better than you were yesterday. Surround yourself with people that will ask you the uncomfortable questions you need to heal and grow as a person but who asks them in a positive way. Things like ‘Why are those your goals?’ and ‘Is that really going to lead you to happiness?’.⠀
Each thought we have creates energy. ⠀
This energy flows around and within us. When you think something bad is going to happen like … you are never going to lose weight or that you’re never going to get that promotion, it creates negative energy in your life. Your thoughts and your energy create your reality. It’s important to note that you shouldn’t get upset with yourself when something negative happens but to be aware of negative thoughts and recognize that they can be turned around. We are constantly manifesting whether we notice it or not. ⠀
Since the energy is already there, it’s important that we use it intentionally.

The spiritual life is a life in which we wait, actively present to the moment, trusting that new things will happen to us, new things that are far beyond our own imagination, fantasy, or prediction. That, indeed, is a very radical stance toward life in a world preoccupied with control. ◽️Henri Nouwen [1932 - 1996]
