Last night, the Hubz and I were watching a horror movie -- The Forest -- starring Natalie Dormer who goes to Aokigahara, Japan's famous suicide forest, to find her twin sister.
I really dislike watching horror movies coz of all things, my mind visualize horror images very well; I sometimes cannot differentiate reality and dream. I suspect the Hubz wanted to watch the show coz of "Margery Tyrell" from Game of Thrones.
Somehow while watching the show, I kept thinking of Arashiyama bamboo during our last trip. I love being in such places of nature to take a break from the humdrum of city life. The place felt so magical when we reached there early in the morning. The air was fresh and crisp and I felt so rejuvenated there despite having only 2 hours of sleep. I wonder if Aokigahara is also just as beautiful and magical, putting aside its historical reputation as a suicide destination and home to "yurei" (ghosts of the dead in Japanese mythology).
Perhaps that would be on our itinerary for our next Japan trip!
"The world is waiting yet to see what God can do through a consecrated soul." Not the world alone, but God Himself is waiting for one, who will be more fully devoted to Him than any who have ever lived; who will be willing to be nothing that Christ may be all; who will grasp God's own purposes; and taking His humility and His faith, His love and His power, will, without hindering, continue to let God do exploits. --C.
