I'm a great believer in creating sacred rituals (like preparing a pretty picture for Instagram) in order to amplify joy in my life.
What creative outlets bring you joy? .
Do you have problems with focusing? I know I did.
But I listened to people with more experience who recommended listening to this kind of music.
The "Deep focus"-playlist is a key component.
I love listening to music. It makes me more productive and focused.
Use this little hack to improve your effectiveness and productivity.
You are not going to become better by watching how other people succeed. Look into yourself. What do you need to work on, what is it that you want to change, be better at.
Focus on yourself.
At the end of the day you will be stuck at the same place while you watched the others move on. Be that person you would follow to get inspired by.

Not sure when my husband became so wise, but love what he chalked up on our kitchen board for me and my son to read.
Some days it feels like everyone has an opinion, they think they know what is best and want to make their voice heard often drowning out your own inner voice or intuition. Your gut is a good indicator of what is right for you. Back that up with counsel from those who have nothing to gain and no agenda other than just loving you and having your back no matter what. ✌💗😊
If others spoke to you the way you speak to yourself would you feel happy and loved?
If the answer is NO then it's time to really pay attention and listen to the way you speak to yourself
And don't pretend it doesn't matter.... You are the one person you listen to ALL day and that means lots and lots and lots of hurt, pain, anger, frustration when you aren't nice to you.
Can you stop this?
YES YOU CAN :) When you hear yourself in the mind or out loud not being kind to you
SAY... "I'm not saying that to me anymore because I feel....when I say that." It's that simple
You are now in charge of you and letting your mind know that it HURTS so there will be a conscious link between what you say and feel and THEN it begins to ease and get better particularly when you're all over it. Every time and this will create a space, new pathways for positive self talk.
Practice baby it works and you will feel SOOOO much better in you.

Got out and enjoyed the lighthouse trail on my last morning in Byron til September. And so glad I did because it has been a lot of sitting during 36 hours in transit back to Canada... although made the most of every set of stairs I came across and practiced some airport yoga 👌
This is the beach that first had my heart in Byron, and I always pause here to send Tallows some gratitude and to open myself up to the abundant blessings of life. This stance of openness to receiving is so powerful and adds another layer to positive thoughts & affirmations. It might seem a little silly at first but try it out and see for yourself how it feels! 🙆🏼

Last week I posted about self-care, and I cannot explain how happy it makes me to hear from people who are making an effort to include this in their lives :-) Today I want to post about something that links in with self-care; affirmations.
An affirmation is, simply put, positive self-talk. The way we talk to ourselves is directly linked to our self-image and wellbeing. We believe what we tell ourselves. So show yourself some love, and tell yourself yourself how beautiful, intelligent and worthy of happiness you are, everyday. If you don't feel confident doing this, or it feels strange at first, then start off by typing 'positive affirmations' into youtube and giving it a little listen before bed. You'll thank yourself for it. 💕💕 This is also a fantastic thing to do with your children. Here is my little lady doing some affirmations with me before school. 😍

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
While getting ready in the morning, I found myself feeling overwhelmed. I was making assumptions about what people in my life wanted and how me not being able to deliver would decrease my connection with them.
Then tried to come up with solutions, while creatively constructing new negative assumptions on how that would lead to the same outcome as above. Feeling more and more tension, confusion and overwhelm.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Brought my awareness to the tension in my body, then to the emotions I was feeling and back tracked to my thoughts that triggered them and laughter out loud. "Wow! I sure know how to get myself worked up." I thought.
One of my Confident Woman Freedom cards with this question, came to my mind: "What if I focus on the facts, instead of making assumptions?" I immediately knew I was going to be brave and speak to the people about my assumed concerns and obtain the facts.
Then continued getting ready, where as now, I changed my perspective from being in the experience, to being the observer of it.
The same story continued to make an appearance, where as now I observed it with a sense of curiosity. Questioning it's validity and foundation. Watching the emotional tantrum slowly losing its intensity.
