Is there a such thing as an extroverted extrovert? The more I read about "extroverted introverts" the more I realize how spot on the word extrovert in describing my personality. Yesterday I was left alone for 10 minutes (😂😫) and immediately started brainstorming what I could do and who I could hang out with. I literally HATE being alone!!! Shout out to @alyssasilverman for keeping me company at the pool + @fitbritla_ and @weezy_wee for including me in #bowlgoals at @sweetgreen sunset strip (officially opened today!!). How would you classify yourself? Is there anyone else out there who is a legit 100% full blooded extrovert?!?! 🙋🏼
I would be lying if I told you that I’ve always loved to workout. There have been PLENTY of days that pushing play on my workout have felt more like a chore than exciting. It was just one more thing on my long list of to-dos’. But I knew how important it is for my health and I loved the way it made me feel when I was done. But I wanted to love the beginning too, I mean REALLY love it. •••••
I stayed committed, even if I didn’t show up for myself for a few days, a week, I kept coming back. And with that, the persistence paid off. It slowly turned into a habit. The mental struggle of getting started got easier and easier until I didn’t think twice about it. •••••
And then about few months ago, a shift happened. I began to LOOK FORWARD to my workouts and it has become a cherished part of my daily routine. I know the reason this happened is because I found something that truly works for ME. For me, that means streaming home workouts from my computer and having a community of support and accountability. •••••
I have the variety to keep me engaged.
I chose programs that are FUN and make me feel GOOD! (It shouldn't be a punishment!)
I can take my workouts outside on the porch (my favorite!), to my family’s cabin, or on the road in a hotel when I’m traveling for work. •••••
I save time not having to travel to and from the gym. Or pay tons of money for gym memberships. •••••
I have strengthened friendships and built new ones with a community of people dedicated to making fitness, nutrition, and self-love a priority in their life.
And the best part of all, is now I get to share this with others. .
I'm not going to lie... I felt like an exhibit at the gym today. I'd gotten so used to having hair for the last 3 months, that losing it again this last week has been really hard. The feeling of people staring at you, taking double takes, and continuous glances makes me really insecure.
Don't get me wrong, I get seeing a cancer patient at the gym isn't that common... but I had just forgotten how much my bald head made me stand out.
Hoping to get reused to this shiny head again soon. Still stuck out my gym session and got a solid 90 minutes it. #nevermissamonday right?
Rolling out my sore muscles today...got a new toy to tackle the tricky spots 👌 Who else uses rollers? I try every day to help loosen my muscles before and after my workouts. It doesn't always happen but when it does.....amaze balls feeling 😜

Today was a good Monday: did my 30x30 workout 💪🏻, chopped 8" off my hair ✂️, saw the eclipse 🌒 (although I wish I was home in Portland or St. Louis to see it in totality! 😭) and mailed off a ton of @poshmark packages! 📦 if you aren't using Poshmark, you're missing out! I love being able to sell my old gently used clothes and then use that money to buy new ones 👗 💯 percent of my lululemon, Athleta, Anthropologie, etc has come from there! 💗
Another week, another batch of energy balls 🙌🏼
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup shredded coconut flakes *optional
1/3 cup dark chocolate chips or dried cranberries Mix together (I divided the batter in half and did both!). Put in fridge for 20-30 min. Roll into balls (makes 16). And keep in fridge!
Left the house at 8:30 am. Watched the most amazing eclipse...spent the entire day basically in direct sunlight (sans 1 minutes and 14 seconds)...another 2 hours home in traffic. Pretty exhausted. Worked out anyways. It was hard. I just pulled a full body workout I could do without equipment (week 2 full body). Glad it's done. Eager to get going with week 9 tomorrow!!! It's so refreshing doing something new and exciting using different types of equipment that I have in my home gym. At one point, I cried because I was so happy that my fire came back again. Had one week off of training and eatting properly after my huge party night a week ago. To be honest I was stressed throughout the week with work and clean diet before the ball was making me feel moody for the longest time. So last week I was able to let loose. I tried not to go overboard but that meant that I was eatting a lot of carb filled home foods (as we tend to eat a lot of noodle/rice based dishes at home)
Weirdly, it only took one week for my body to feel the effects of not eatting clean: I started having pimples on my face and my body felt constantly dry and sluggish.
Today I am back on#BBG WEEK 1 DAY 1 and eatting clean as we speak! Going to polish up my macros and make new dishes as I am sadly getting sick of the food I've been eatting.
Ofc course I am working for a goal- my birthday in a months time. So lets see if we can make some changes!!
💃🏽bodyweight & bands🤸♂️ Wake up your butt! One of the worst things we can do to our body is to keep it sedentary and sitting ALL DAY. Grab any mini band (mine is the red booty band from @thexbands) and hide yourself in a random conference room in your office:
1. Wall sit + abductions x20
2. Standing hip extension + abduction x10ea
3. Standing hip circles x15ea direction
4. Squat hold + reverse lunges x15ea
2-4 sets is sufficient to keep them 🎂 awake for a while
Mini bands are a great tool to get activation in your glutes--a majority of people have a tough time waking them up. Activated glutes=better posture and health (and perkier booty) 🍦
Started @karinaelle's 2 week HIIT program today just to switch it up from BBG for a bit! Felt like trying something new, and boy am I gonna be sore from leg day and HIIT sprints! I want to start doing more sprints at the track/on the treadmill (preferably the track bc treadmill sprints scare me) rather than just doing HIIT on the bike or elliptical. Just something to do more of and improve on! After being a little lackadaisical lately with workouts, I'm focused on getting back to it consistently this week!

THE TRUTH: One of the things I love most about yoga is that it isn't competitive. 🙏🏼 There is no such thing as being BAD at yoga or a sense of failure if you're not where you want to be in your practice. I truly believe in yoga and in life focusing on your own path and not comparing yourself to others is the one of the ultimate keys I have found to happiness and success. In moments when I begin to compare myself to others and think I'm not strong enough, I'm not successful enough, or I'm just falling short - I've started saying back to myself (yes 😂 I talk to myself) "so WHAT?! You're doing the best you can and that is enough!" ❤️ If you're living your life just focusing on yourself, you really can't be in competition with anyone else because no one can be YOU better than YOU!
